A mother's help or family assistant is responsible for helping parents take care of their children, as well as with light housework and errands.
Duties may include helping parents with office work, paying bills, liaising with tradesmen, answering the phone, taking messages, carrying out household amenity control and preparing meals.
The main difference between a mother's help and a nanny is that a mother's help is usually younger, recently qualified and not yet experienced enough to be left in sole charge of the children.
A mother's help usually works alongside a parent in caring for their children.

An agreement can be reached where a family pays their mother's help overtime for longer hours worked.
We only place mother's helps of the highest calibre. All of our mother's help undergo comprehensive screening and selection
procedures.
Our background investigations include checking employer references (a minimum of two), medical reports and garda vetting checks.
A mother’s helper may work on a part or full time basis, as required by each family’s unique needs.

Mother’s helpers earn between €280 – €400 per week full time.

For placements between 2 and 6 months, the agency fee is equal to 4% of the candidate’s salary and for placements longer than 6 months, the fee is 8%. We also offer a special temporary rate for short-term placements.
