Maternity nurse

Maternity nurses are qualified and experienced childcare professionals who are able to support mothers and their newborn babies in their homes for the first four to eight weeks after birth, or as needed thereafter.

Maternity nurses provide expert services (either live-in or live-out) and advice in all areas of infant care, especially with sleep routines, handling and settling of the baby, feeding and breast feeding, weight gain patterns, maintaining good hygiene and managing nursery duties (including keeping the nursery clean and tidy and doing the baby's laundry).

In order to secure the maternity nurse of your choice, it is advisable to make a booking a few months in advance.

Our maternity nurses are available for a range of hours, including night shifts, day shifts or even hourly visits.

Maternity nurse rates

Maternity nurses earn between €250 & €275 for a 24 hour period or approximately €1000 per week for night duty.

Agency fee

For placements under 2 months, the agency fee is €25 per day or €100 per week and for placements between 2 and 6 months, the agency fee is equal to 4% of the maternity nurses earnings.
